What is the Back to Work Rhode Island Program?

The purpose of the Back to Work Rhode Island Program
is to provide unemployment insurance claimants with planned, structured and career-relevant unpaid work experience job training to gain new skills and abilities to increase their prospects for employment, and to assist employers in locating and obtaining skilled, well-qualified job candidates for employment positions.

Participation by both the claimant and the employer is voluntary. The employer provides the claimant with skill enhancement and job training for up to 24 hours per week for up to six weeks.
